Working together locally, regionally and globally: IAF at the local level
Chapters add a local dimension to the existing membership offer which also includes the opportunity to attend conferences around the world, newsletters and techniques library, access to certification of professional competence, and being part of a global network of professional facilitators online and through professional exchange.
A chapter is a group of IAF members who choose to get together locally to provide more frequent and local opportunities for professional and personal development, while pursuing IAF’s goals of:
- Giving credibility to and furthering the work of the field of facilitators and facilitation.
- Providing a network to foster interchange between professional practitioners in the field.
- Developing appropriate opportunities, methodologies, models, tools and modes that support the practice of exemplary participatory facilitation.
IAF is committed to creating a network of vibrant local groups worldwide, and a percentage of individual IAF membership fees are returned to chapters to help them organize local events that provide development opportunities for existing members and attract new members to IAF.
Chapters can be constituted either informally or formally. A set of model bylaws is available if needed. For more information about IAF chapters in Europe, please contact Kristen Reinbach at Kristen.reinbach@iaf-europe.eu or the IAF Europe office at office@iaf-europe.eu.
